If you like fishing with bobbers, or know someone who does, a new device called the Fishing FanCam might interest you. Still in development, makers of the doodad are looking to combine a camera with fishing corks, according to The Times-Picayune.
Their plans are to integrate a small camera into bobbers to allow for the transmission of 720p HD video, at a rate of about 30 frames per second. Given its small footprint and the fact that it is slated to be mounted to a bobber, the device is mostly geared toward use in clear waters nearer to shore.
Though the Fishing FanCam has gained some interest while its developers work to bring it to market (more than 12,000 people like it on Facebook), the bobber cam is far from reality. A campaign on IndieGoGo is soliciting donations with a goal of $50,000. It has achieved just more than $4,000 so far.
