New Jersey’s Lake Hopatcong Home To New Record Bass

Every lake deserves a record-sized bass, no matter its size. For Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey, that bass may have been caught earlier this month, according to the Daily Record.

During the April 2 fishing tournament put on by the Northeast Bassmasters at Lee’s County Park, angler Chris Hall netter a nice 8.74-pound bass. The fish was later released as part of the fishing competition’s rules.

After it was let loose, the tournament’s director did some research and found that the fish may be the largest bass ever caught in the lake. It would replace the old record of 8.09 pounds, based on a bass caught about two years ago.
